what are the most interesting official collectibles?

im aware of a lot interesting stuff in the MJ collecting world like a 2005 Neverland invitation for fans who were outside the courthouse, a HIStory statue numbered of 1000 from 1999, ticket to a private 89 madison square gig, various HIStory coins silver, bronze gold and mixed, speed demon single etc.

but im not really aware of the cool stuff in the prince world, I know about the Rave In2 CD which just went for a £100 on eBay and a my name is prince record send to warner execs anything else? i dont think prince has endorsed many collectibles i suspect

Whoever bought the barber's chair (?) used by Prince in Purple Rain during the scenes in the Revolution's First Ave dressing room. Now THAT is a collectible. Prince sold it during the 2000 Paisley Park garage sale. Which, by the way, was really fucked up.

The first pressing of Goldnigga with "Guess Who's Knocking" would be a good one. I still have mine from ordering off 1-800-NEW-FUNK.
.
I would imagine that tour programs from the 80s would be desirable.

The One Nite Alone piano CD has some value.

I had several of those Gold Nigga discs from the Paisley Park rummage sale in 1999. I sold them all though. But for a healthy profit!

Smart move to snap those up. How much did they cost at the garage sale?

I'm looking to get all 6 colors of the NPG Hockey Jersey. Right now, I have three of them.

Just before NPGMC closed you could get Rave In2 really cheap, which is when I bought it. I should have bought more lol.

"His Name Was Prince" is a somewhat rare item.

I think the most valuable single item I have is maybe the German gold disc of ATWIAD which can go for £150.

A lot of the stuff from the old NPG shops floats around.

The programs from P and Mayte's wedding, you see those around from time to time.

I don't think there are too many official collectables. But by far one of the most affordable and official is the little Symbol pendants you buy at his concerts.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

And you can not get more official than a concert ticket. Even if it was made by the promoter rather than Prince's marketing crew.

.

Following that are inserts from albums and photo sleeves inside albums. My For You record has these

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

The last one meaning the record is likely a Purple Rain era pressing and no doubt these would have been inserted in all his back catalogue of albums to move a few more in the midst of Purple Rain Hysteria (Possibly more copies of For You sold in 1984/85 than they did in 1978). Its over 30 years old and officially collectable

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

And official collectors versions of songs, this picture cover was obviously designed to be collected rather than played.

.

What do you guys think?

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Not sure if they are officially sanctioned or not, but these mini guitars are pretty popular at least here in Australia and New Zealand.

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

Made in Indonesia these 9 inch guitars are surprisingly accurate looking and cost about $20 each, they are beautiful. Also shown is a collection of books, including the official tome - 21 Nights, a real vanity piece (Read like 3 times since I got it in 2008)

.

Other books not sure if official ornot, but Prince has not written a biography yet.

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

All old and well loved books from the 1990s

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

80's books all at least a quarter of a century old, ranging from crap (Steven Ivory) to godlike Dave Hill 1990 edition.

.

[img:$uid]http://i1081.ph.../img:$uid]

.

Recent books in better condition, as I have not moved since 2008 and before that moved 35 times in 11 years!!!

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I have John L's CD "Father's Song". I think that's the rarest thing I have, not counting stuff signed by various band members.

Does anyone have any pictures of the insides of the shops like the chalk farm road one? i remember seeing a pic of a stained glass window for sale which featured a design of the lovesexy cover. i cant imagine that being produced in a large quantity like the candles so it just makes me wonder how many things from those shops were rare or one offs and how much those are now worth being so unbelievably rare

My most interesting collectibles would be the tour programs from every tour. I have the Purple Rain one signed by the Revolution and Diamonds and Pearls signed by the NPG. I also have the tamborines from the Purple Rain tour, the Parade tour, Act 1 tour tamboracca, and the prince one I got from Mayte at a Paisley Park show. I also have one from Prince from Mayte's 21st birthday party show at Paisley Park. It's just a regular black half moon tamborine.

Ones that I don't have that I think are cool is the chain hat and the clear cane from the Alphabet St video. One of my friends has a photo proof sheet of various pictures from the same photo shoot, where Prince made marks on the ones he liked and didn't like. There are also rings like the ones they wore in the Love 2 the 9's video. All were sold in the MPLS NPG store at one point or another.

I don't recall exactly, but I believe they were very cheap. Like $7. Or less. There was a huge pile of Gold Nigga CDs with only small number that had the extra track on them. I combed through that pile like a prospector of old.

I REALLY regret selling my physical copy of Rave In2. And my last NPG Gold Nigga with Guess Who's Knockin.

The Emancipation lyric book is an interesting collectible, if only for the pictures of Prince in a shirt and tie, looking like some middle manager at a local retail chain.

Haha - I have one of those. Prince does look like he's preparing you for a shoe fitting at Payless Shoe Source in the photos of him in the nursery.
