According to ELECTRIC MAN..... NOOOO>

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

If Prince did that he'd look like a FOOL! He's way too old to be singing songs like that now.

Part of the problem with Prince is that his music stopped evloving after PR. He NEVER grew with his audience or the NEW audience he had captured during 1999 and PR. He just kept doing the same thing over and over again. He should have begun distancing himself from singing sexually explict songs after PR.

[Edited 6/11/15 11:28am]

What da what?!! eek... He kept doing the same thing over and over again? ATWIAD, Parade, Lovesexy? On what planet are they the same albums? As far as the sex lyrics go, I guess U2 kept doing the same thing over and over again too because they only sing about love and politics or how about Justin Timberlake or any artists? There are few topics to write songs about Prince has managed to write songs about Vegatarianism (Animal Kingdom), political unrest (Dance On), salvation and hop (the Cross), the ails of fame and poverty (Pop Life) all after PR so how do you justify saying he kept doing the same thing after Purple Rain?

POPPYCOCK!! While I agree that he's too old to dress the way he did on stage 35 years ago, he is NOT too old to sing suggestive lyrics, ESPECIALLY something that is only as mildly explicit as Darling Nikki.

Why do people think that he's too old to sing these songs? George Clinton & P-Funk still sing their sexually explicit lyrics. He's way older.

Not only that, I've been hearing this argument for 10-15 years, so apparently, some of you think people should stop having or talking about sex at 40? As a man in his mid-forties, please allow me a hearty laugh at that BS.

If Prince doesn't want to sing that stuff anymore for religious reasons.... Fine! But this nonsense that his age would make it inappropriate is hilarious.

Regardless of his age or his religion, it is quite obvious that this is a dude that still has sex, still thinks about it, and is probably still obsessed with it. So what if he sings about it? wink

Perhaps Prince feels his age makes it inappropriate (for him). Maybe he doesn't feel comfortable singing it anymore. His song, his choice. shrug

I always wondered about the 'Masturbating with a Magazine' line. Did he mean she was masturbating whilst reading a magazine, or had she rolled it up and was actually... y'know...?

Cos if it's the second meaning, maybe he doesn't sing it anymore due to the fact that many people nowadays read their chosen periodicals (no pun indended) on Kindles and e-readers, and that sort of sex act can lead to awkward questions in ER.

blah blah blah

Perhaps, and if he does, fine, it's whatever.

But that's not at all what I was addressing. I was talking to a person that is not Prince who stated that "he's way too old" to sing Darling Nikki and that if he did he would look like a "FOOL".

I call "poppycock" on both those claims. I'm gonna stick with that... wink

Agnostics: Are instead asking questions, comparing different possibilities with an open mind. He or she might say what he or she thinks is most likely in their opinion, but will look to the sources of information and admit that it's based off of assumptions rather than facts.

A questioning and wondering Prince would be perfect now. An agnostic mind without being afraid to exaggerate opinions and feelings a bit for the entertainment and discussion value.

This post insinuates that agnostic is the only way to avoid fanaticism of either a religious or irreligious sort.

What would be wrong with Prince being atheist?

The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I say yes prince is still a JW. All sex lyrics are about the love between a man and wife, stricltly monogomous relationship.

But I agree that he ain't preaching it like he was. Like all things Prince he probably got bored and moved on

I remember Prince saying somewhere that he found JW teachings to be "closer to the Truth" - I don't think he was ever fully on board with everything, just searching for some sort of answer.

Which he's still doing, in my opinion.

I've never been and will never be religious in any way, so I don't always feel I can fully appreciate Prince's message and lyrics, but I do believe he is always searching. I don't know if defining him as any one religion really fits what he's doing.

So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

I'm a animator, character designer, screenwriter, and a producer of animated films that will be released in about 3 years. Those are completely different talents that require the same level of expertise. My talent is in a whole new world. Betcha Prince can't do that!

[Edited 6/11/15 17:14pm]

A lot of people can do things other people can't do... so. The point is you take time out to come on a website saying Prince has produce Junk music over the last years; yet you still take time out to come on a Prince website and bytch about it. Good Lawd knows what you would do if he had some "Good" music! lol razz lol

I have said this 10000 times. Prince didn't stop being sexual in his lyrics when he became a Jehovah's Witness, he stopped swearing. Sexual content can be found on The Rainbow Children album. Heck, he made vibrator noises on "Supercute" and he was a Jehovah's Witness then. How do people not realize this?

-

Are we Prince fans or not? You do realize, as a Witness, he still played songs like Do Me, Baby and Gett Off?

Scientology would have meant much less of an effect on Prince's creative work; lyric changes, self-cencorship, etc.

He chops and changes all the time. He might be an orange person now!!! Prince meet a Ma Sheila, Ma Sheila meet Prince
