Prince did NOT write Nothing Compares 2 U because of Susannah Melvoin. The inspiration for this song came from someone else (someone he wasn´t in a relationship with). An in-depth story about that song and its history was published in Uptown magazine.

He DID write The Beautiful Ones for her when she was still in a relationship with some other guy, hence the "Do you want him, or do you want me" line. As far as I know, he was already dating Vanity then (and maybe still seeing Susan Moonsie). Again, this was covered by Per Nielsen and the people at Uptown magazine, too.

To call Susan Moonsie an RnB singer that we all know is a bit of a stretch, and I doubt that Timex Social Club´s line about Susan is really about Susan Moonsie.
