May be on to something there. The cover artwork is clean and looks very professional at least...

If it looks professional, that probably means Prince and his designers had nothing to do with it.

The last few years there is an echo-y harshness sound to his voice in Some parts. Does Anyone else noticed this?

ur right but this is already EXEPTIONAL that Prince with his old age for a singer in his category can reach yet High notes with a very good clearness & strenght

when he sings!!

Agreed, it is Not happenings in those parts, but more the uptempo ones which become hall/ringmaster shouty. Like Horny pony on acid.

Thanks but I'd rather listen to the mp3z of the München Madhouse gig than to the FLACs of this one.

It is but there's some interesting things in the show. The last few tracks are pretty good. I'm not a big fan on the current live shows. In fact out of the 2013 Montreux shows, I listened to the first 2 shows once and the 3rd night twice and I have never gone back to it since. I did really enjoy listening to this the 2 times I had a chance to yesterday afternoon while I was working. Well at least you have that 87 aftershow now to balance out a new hits show.

3EG are a really good live band. I can understand the dislike for the studio work, but this show or Paris show how awesome they have become. The current NPG Horns compliment them amazingly as well, just compare it to the Montreux shows.

We all know he has to play the hits for the masses but its a shame he doesn't mix it up a bit like he did on the first UK Hit N Run last February.

.

Clouds sounds great and he could easily add the likes of Wow, Anotherlove, FunknRoll etc into the set for the hardcores and to introduce the casual fans to some of the newer stuff.

.

I do think he does a good job at freshening up some of the hits though, this version of Nothing Compares 2 U is probably my favourite.

Yep. It's a great recording and it's all very polished but it doesn't feel like a 3rdEye show any more. Could just as well be the NPG

Clouds sounds way better than the SNL performance. Not sure if the band is just tighter or the mix is better (or both), but it sounds great. Act Of God smokes, too. What a groove!

Maybe you understand why I hated him in 2010 for not playing Act of God.

(he performed it in soundchecks and sang the lyrics over other music while in concert...)

CONTROVERSY

I wondered this when I saw him in Louisville and I'm wondering again now: Why does he keep saying "1982" during this song? Doesn't he know the single and the album both came out in '81? Weird...

confuse

Also, anybody ejected from the show for having their "phone out" could use this recording to argue entrapment, no? giggle

Amazing fidelity on this show. Here's hoping that Louisville 1st night 2nd show surfaces in as good a quality. I've never had a clear sounding boot of a show I was at. Would be sweet! beg

If this is truly from the soundboard, wouldn't it be pretty easy for Prince to figure out who put this out there? It was obviously an American, so couldn't Prince press some kind of charge, or file some kind of civil suit? At the least, couldn't he file suit against the venue for not taking the proper precautions with his product?

If he does none of these things, it leads one to think that either he's not that concerned with bootlegging, or he's part of the process himself.

I think it's the former but I wouldn't ban anyone for wondering if it was the latter.

He made similar comments during the ONA tour - "This is not 1986. If you came to get your Purple Rain on, you're in the wrong house." I think he's just generally referencing the past. It is jarring to fans like us though who can associate a Prince album with nearly every year for the past 37 years and know by heart that track 2 on disc 2 of SOTT is IIWYG.

Actually, people who act like Prince kicked their dog at some point in the past and then become overtly negative about each and every thing the man does should in turn be banned from the org. But then again, it appears that someone with some sort of authority around here has some strange affinity for the opinions of this Grumpy Gus and thus allows him to continue to be overtly negative. It's like a vicious cycle of hate and is unattractive and grossly insecure IMO.

But, what do I know?

At the risk of stating the obvious, No.

And he wasn't involved in the 'We got no love...' Boot either.
