Seriously?? (Da Bourgeoisie appreciation)

"Da Bourgeoisie" is one of the greatest funk tunes Prince has ever written! Totally reminds me of New Position, just slllowwwwerrr smile)) I know I'm late on this so please direct me to a thread or show some love for this track

Is this with 3EG? If so, their hitnrun tour is gonna be off the hook

really? I guess you don't like funky rhythm guitar with deep bass... isn't this song about a middle-class stripper? Maybe that's why you don't like it

First off...am I missing something here?? At what point in EroticDreamer's post do you get the impression he/she doesn't like it???

I do agree though, nice little ditty this song, I like it a lot. For me, this one, along with the remix version of Screwdriver and R&RLA Remix7 (or whatever it was), I would have had all of them on PlecElec in place of others.

I luv both songs.

When I said that both wouldn't get any 'airtime' I meant 'radio play'.

I bought both and have them in several playlists.

And since you brought up strippers...

Cya next week, same time, same trailer.... wink

This was an EXCELLENT song for a one-off, online release. The 3rdeyetunes store was the kind of storefront that Prince needs: No frills, no announcements, just put tracks up for sale when they're ready. The benefit for Prince fans is that he could get songs up for sale before he loses interest in them and they're socked away in the vault.

.

I like both the "demo" version and the more polished version with horn overdubs. More, please.

Loved this one from the first listen, and it grew into greatness the more i heard it.

Ain't gonna miss U is a companion to Gold Standard, and sits right next to it on my playlists. (both are greatness as well)

Now there's a song I haven't thought about in a while. Don't hate it and dont' feel compelled to play it but always bob my head when it pops up on shuffle.

RIP sad

What about Turn Me Loose. yes lawd...yes yesss laawddd...

Anwyay I dont like the lyrics that are condecending and irritable in Da Bougeoisie.

Ain't Gonna Miss U reminds me of the NPG music era which I wasnt hip to. Glad it wasnt on AOA

Da Bourgeoisie and Ain't Gonna Miss U never really impressed me. I don't dislike them. I'm just waiting for them to hit me like they've hit other Orgers.
