Making your own Deluxe/Expanded version of P's albums

Has anyone tried to make their own Deluxe playlist of Prince's albums in iTunes/Windows Media Player and if so which songs did you use for each album?.

The only time I have really done this was with The Gold Experience. I added Interactive, Ripopgodazippa, Acknowledge Me and Days Of Wild BACK into the album. There are also segues for quite a few of these (some sourced from outtakes) that make it feel even more legit. I did not remove anything that was already there.

In my opinion, no Prince album is "flawless" except for Purple Rain. Big amount of masterpieces, but I always tinker.

Dirty Mind

01. Dirty Mind

02. When You Were Mine

03. Do It All Night

04. Gotta Broken Heart Again

05. Sexy Dancer

06. Bambi

07. Uptown

08. Head

09. Sister

10. Partyup

*the album gains an extra edge with a song about a lesbian and one about a stripper

Controversy

01. Controversy

02. Sexuality

03. Do Me, Baby

04. Private Joy

05. Tick, Tick, Bang [1980 version]

06. Irresistible Bitch

07. Ronnie, Talk to Russia

08. Let's Work [extended remix]

09. Annie Christian

10. Jack U Off

11. Turn It Up

12. Strange Way of Saying I Love U

*the album gets weird and "jumpy" near the end, but that's the way I love it.

1999

01. 1999

02. Little Red Corvette [extended dance remix]

03. Delirious [unreleased extended]

04. Let's Pretend We're Married

05. D.M.S.R.

06. Automatic

07. Something in the Water Does Not Compute [unreleased]

08. Free

09. Lady Cab Driver

10. Purple Music

11. International Lover

Around the World in a Day

01. Around the World in a Day

02. Paisley Park

03. Condition of the Heart

04. Raspberry Beret

05. Pop Life [extended dance remix]

12. High Fashion

13. Mutiny

14. The Screams of Passion

15. River Run Dry

16. Nothing Compares 2 U [Family/Prince]

*this album is super long, but I like the stylistic changes, and it brings it to a new level imo.

Parade (the real album)

01. An Honest Man [1998 version]

02. Christopher Tracy's Parade

03. New Position

04. I Wonder U

05. Under the Cherry Moon

06. Mia Bocca

07. Love or Money

08. Girls and Boys

09. Sexual Suicide [1998 version]

10. Life Can Be So Nice

11. Kiss [extended version]

12. Venus de Milo

13. Do U Lie?

14. Old Friends 4 Sale

15. All My Dreams

16. Mountains [extended remix]

17. Anotherloverholenyohead

18. Sometimes It Snows in April

*I use the '98 versions because of the sound quality. And "Heaven" is an amazing way to end the album.

Sign o' the Times

01. Sign o' the Times [movie version]

02. Play in the Sunshine [movie version]

03. Housequake [movie version, faded out]

04. The Ballad of Dorothy Parker

*the movie versions kick the asses of the album versions, imo.

I'm still working on a Lovesexy playlist, but I got a Batman one.

Batman

01. The Future [remix]

02. Electric Chair [SNL]

03. The Arms of Orion

04. Dance with the Devil / Others Here with Us [homemade edit]

10. Mind Bells

11. I Love U in Me

12. Sex

13. Feel U Up [Long Stroke]

14. Scandalous! [The Crime, The Passion, The Rapture]

15. Batdance (sometimes Batmix, depending on mood)

I have like 30+ other "albums" comprised of material from different eras (live, outtakes, alternates, etc), but I've already written a shitlong post lol

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

Mine is in "Disc 2". biggrin

.

I never mess with released format.

.

Actually, I lie. I've only done that with COME and kept the original setlist with Interactive and Endorphinemachine and finishing off with Strays. With Come and Letitgo as an added track.

cool
