PRINCE - 360 Degree Aesthetics

Once thing I find absolutely amazing, is except for a few pictures of Prince when he was just getting noticed, he has ALWAYS maintained an 'otherworldly' look when it comes to his personl style.

You never see Prince in your average jeans & t shirt. He had vision very early on that he could and pretty much had to use his image & style & personae to his advantage, maintain a mystique and set himself apart... andhe's kept it 360 degrees woven throughout his life. Prince is always ON.

He cultivated so carefully the balance of masculine/feminine god/devil dangerous wild child/ purple yoda...

The most recent artworks (the gorgeous painting he bought), as well as the 'symbol' images for the #Rally4Peace are really starting to crystallize this period - and I find it refreshing that over this 3EG period he's let it define itself and I find it fun and intersting to watch...

I'm wondering though about past eras and the art direction...how does Prince decide what the music looks like?

What about his Emancipation era where he told the puppet that he dresses normal now?

Besides that brief moment, he's always in full make up and costumes and that's why, imo, he doesn't understand real world problems. I don't believe Prince could survive outside his bubble.

Princes 'normal' clothes are still different and made for him, which is really smart --- but I would like to see what Tom Ford or Marc Jacobs would do if they were charged with dressing Prince....

Not sure though that he doesn't understand todays problems, I think he does, he's not effected by them, only because he's rich though and I think he knows that. he also is devoted to his hometown and clearly loves it there and is very connected to where he came from...he definitely has a bubble, no doubt. I've worked with alot of the extremely rich and they do breathe rare air for sure, but it doesnt mean they don't understand whats happening.....
