The new leak of a pristine version of this outtake deserves its own thread. It kind of just crept out quietly. And I have to say that I have a new appreciation for this song. Maybe it's not an outstanding composition, but it IS a jam.

Would have made a great Parade b-side, maybe as an instrumental. I love the bass and drums, and the "clean" airy sound of the production.

And I imagine Prince trying to conceive of what a meeting of his vision and Miles' would sound like: it opens with a manic electric guitar and then..."Nawww!" followed by an abrupt stop. Then Miles' horn comes in asounding like another thing altogether. I never noticed (maybe never heard) in the previously circulating versions, Miles Davis almost whispering "Prince, Prince" like he's thinking of who this guy is...

Very cool song, now with us in perfect sound quality. Give it another listen!

Haven't found this yet, but I really like the long version, is this one based off that one? Actually come to think of it I haven't heard the short one for ages, is that a different recording altogether or just another mix?

Not sure if I have heard a new one yet. I want to ask what release came out on but I won't as I don't know if thats allowed.
