Prince musical oddities... I'm not certain why I'm so fascinated by Prince's musical oddities but I've always been somewhat intrigued in the past when Prince would whip out a song out of nowhere and then leave it behind never to be heard of again. Case in point, "Everybody Dance" played sparingly during the Dirty Mind tour and "Drawers Burnin'" played at his 27th birthday performance. I mean heck, I rarely hear more recent bootlegs revisting these tunes anymore. It's almost as if they've slipped away into the ether.

there have been quite a few in later years, like "black muse", "when she comes",
official release really qualify as these oddities that you were talking about.

Electric Intercourse. And there is the Lovesexy tour version of If I Had a Harem. The outtake is pretty crap and i can see why it was never released, but the bluesy take on it in concert deserved a lot more, but was never revisited as far as I can tell. |
