I think guitar is one of the most dull songs he has ever written. Such a boring riff. I mean, if youre going to write a song about your guitar then at least come up with a hook/riff/solo that does justice to the said guitar. And lyrically? Awful. Its one of those examples where Prince tries to fit too many words into one line just to get a rhyme out. Lazy and amateur sounding. Think of any other guitar based songs Prince has done and Guitar will always be at the bottom of the pile to me.

On the flip side, The 1 U Wanna C is quite catchy. A much better effort. Somewhere Here on Earth is great too. The only 2 songs to that might make it onto a playlist. Never listened to the album in its entirety since the day I got it.

I did a start-to-finish PE listen a few days ago. It sucked.

I feel no urge to. Thankfully, most the songs have faded from memory and I cant recall how they go. I would like to keep it this way.

It's just bland. Even Prince albums I don't like much are never really boring like this one is. The song writing is really subpar also.

Keep it that way for as long as you possibly can.

Somewhere Here On Earth The One U Wanna C Nice tracks for reminiscing about the Revolution days

The album does have a vaguely Revolution sound to it.

Wendy and Lisa played on this album smile

I like it with the exception of the title track and Chelsea Rodgers which are just a bit too preachy for me. Future Baby Mama is my jam! Remember the first time I played this album the day it came out with the paper and it sent tingles down my spine... yes

Love the album. If Mr Goodnight could be replaced with F.U.N.K, then it would be even more solid.

That's the truth... It is so so so BLAND.

Even the worst of his albums have 1 or 2 decent songs that brings energy, take NPS for example... Planet Earth is just bland. Even the songs that are "supposed" to energize the album like Guitar and Chelsea Rodgers... Just don't cut it.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I don't either wink. SHOE and All the Midnights... are close to classic material, the rest is just so-so, but not awful at all thumbs up!.

I always quite liked this, seems more coherent as the years go by.

I was listening to Planet Earth and noticed just how bad the recording is, it made me mad cos it's at the peak of the track. Really muddled, can't believe this was missed in the mix.
