Normally my itunes prince albums arrange themselves chronologically, but some downloads buck the trend. 'for you' is listed as 2013. diamonds and pearls is also around that period. the raspberry beret/hello single is also 2012 or some such. but some like parade slot themselves neatly into 1986 etc (not that prince has much on itunes).

are some old prince albums digital reissues then? they are NOT remasters, certainly....

iTunes don't really bother with that kind of detail with any accuracy.

Sometimes an album is listed by the original year of creation/release, sometimes by the year the 'digital' version was made/released.

Simple as that I think. If you want to view the albums chronologically, just gotta go through and change the metadata yourself.
