Great post! Yes, i agree with you! I would even say, that lovesymbol has the most beautiful-sounding vocals prince ever did, followed by emancipation!

But i also like the raw vocals of purple rain and around the world...has lot of power! But with sott prince started to sound kind different, nasal..the whole thing has not the best mix, sounds a little dead.

But what i really miss in most of his recent songs are overall strong powerfull vocals. It all sounds like he is just "yearning" them and then putting them upfront...

Go for the FLAC'd vynil. Another world entirely.

IMO Prince was at his peak vocally between 1982-84

The crazed screams.. his natural voice.. the falsetto... he was Fully Rockin!
