When did Albert Magnoli Die?

I read this at Amazon.com under the Purple Rain review if you buy Purple Rain movie:

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
The late Albert Magnoli directed this ragged but effective 1984 drama (with lots of musical interludes) starring (the artist formerly known as) Prince as a Minneapolis musician whose ego is his biggest obstacle to fame and love. In the backdrop is a strong story about the character's violent family life and a father made monstrous by broken dreams. Prince's film debut as an actor is not bad at all, and he is surrounded by a few people (Apollonia Kotero, Morris Day, and members of his own band) for whom he has served as a mentor in real life. The music is loud and good: "When Doves Cry," "Purple Rain," "Let's Go Crazy"--you remember the soundtrack. --Tom Keogh

Well, If it's true, we can all forget a director's commentary if a Special Edition Purple Rain DVD ever get's released.

But I haven't heard this at all. Do you think they have stuffed the info up at Amazon?

Albert Magnoli is still very much alive. It was Prince's ex-manager Steve Fargnoli who died a few years ago (I think it was cancer).

Yes, here is

an article:

Ex-manager for Prince, Sinead dies
By JAM! Music

Steve Fargnoli, whose artist management skill guided the careers of Prince and Sinead O'Connor, died Friday in Los Angeles after a two-year battle with cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 52.

Fargnoli's 25 year career in the music business also saw him steering such major acts as Sly And The Family Stone, J. Geils Band, Earth, Wind & Fire, and the Emotions.

Rhode Island-born Fargnoli began his career as a booking agent, but in 1975 launched a management company with Bob Cavallo and Joe Ruffalo. In 1978, the company began a relationship with Prince -- a deal that spawned three films, 10 albums, and many world tours.

In the late '80s, the partnership with Cavallo and Ruffalo ended and Fargnoli launched Pure Acts, which managed the careers of World Party and O'Connor.

More recently, Fargnoli was involved in the career of Godsmack and served as a consultant to Hollywood Records, the report said.
