There are way BETTER images that illustrate the point. But the way that Prince's and his #purpleminionsarmywhatev's mentality is set up...

I love the big singles from both of these albums..

I remember that period of the 90's when the fall meant new Prince music!

I could listen to both of those records today and not be disappointed. I may listen to them on the drive to and from work this week in fact.

I don't remember now but the segues I thought were part of a bigger production that couldn't fit on one disc? Even as is, they didn't interfere with my listening to the record.

I agree, Prince was going more towards the top-40? regular music crowd with D&P, but it worked for me.

Maybe, the symbol album, but very close!

There was some weird choreography going on in those days remember the beginning of the "Gett Off" video and the MTV "buttless" performance where it looked like Prince was getting "humped" by the GameBoyz?! LOL

This type of outfit and dance were a bit (too) much for me, by the early nineties I felt it would be good for Prince to tone things down a bit. The outrageousness of it didn't seem to fit the times no longer. It was 'over the top' bordering 'desperate' to me, it screamed 'attention seeker' to me.

For me Love Symbol is the better record. But imagine if you'd put the best songs of D&P and Symbol on one album, that could have been one of his very best albums of his career in my opinion

Yes it was my favorite tour to date. That album so great live plus Prince was at his peak as a live performer at this time. Nowadays it would not be the same though as Prince just can't physically do what he used to do live and being a heavy dance funk album it just would not really work live nowadays but back in the day...DAMN!! that was a show!! I wish a proshot shot existed from this tour

i listened again and again...sounds like he is saying " A double A double Arrogance"...every lyrics site ive checked says the same thing...im just not hearing or seeing what youre hearing...although those lyric sites can be wrong at times, i dont hear what you heard...play it again

I listened again too, and I do hear the Double A Double A that you mentioned. But it also sounds like they're spelling something out at the very end of each chant. Weird. Either way, love the song.

For me Diamonds and Pearls, even though it probably has more weak material. I find Love Symbol a bit unlistenable despite some massive high points. I just can't get behind Blue Light or 3 Chains o' Gold...
