PEACH AND BLACK PODCAST APPRECIATION THREAD

Sorry if this has been posted before, but despite coming on this site for years and being a big Prince fan, I have only just started listening to there podcasts/reviews. And they are soo good. Its a joy to listen to the album reviews, and how they take there time on each song etc. They have great chemistry between them, but not annoying like some podcasts you listen. They never forget what they are supposed to be doing and talk about the sounds etc behind the songs, which gives you more of a appreciation of Princes music. If you are like me and haven't checked them out yet, please do, you wont regret it.

I was a late comer to these guys but really enjoy listening to their show.

I've heard them talk about sitting down and interviewing/talking with Prince? Is there a show where they go into depth on this?

Also just out of curiosity - all the episodes are available through the website but when I use the app "podcast addict" on my phone they episodes only go back as far as the D&P review? Is that a concious thing? or a flaw in the app?

Prince invited us to attend his Welcome 2 America press conference back in late 2010. Captain and MC were able to attend and also got to hang out with P & and the Gang afterward (I still kick myself for not getting there - was just too busy with work at the time). We discussed the meeting in this episode: http://peachandblack.podb...ck-in-nyc/

Not sure about the 'podcast addict' thing? We always seem to have troubles with the D&P episode - keeps dropping out. We'll have a look into it.

^ Thanks man. Tough break with the press conference. I'll add the podcast to my playlist.

I contacted the apps creator, he said there is no atchive feeds linked to the main feed (paged feeds). Then the podcast apps can aggregate all the content.

I only mention it because I use the apps on my phone to listen and was unaware there were any episodes prior to the D&P review, and the same thing seems to occur in several podcast apps.

Seriously keep up the good work though! Now I've found all the the archives on the website I'm going to work my way though them all smile

Peach and Black is an excellent podcast! They, along with Michael Dean's Prince Podcast, inspired me to create my own Prince show, which from 2009-11 was known as Paisley Radio, and is now known as The Purple Knights Podcast (an indirect reference to the "Purple Yoda" nickname: P is the Purple Yoda, and we are his Purple [Jedi] Knights).

The Peach & Black guys actually recorded a few "ads" for me back in the day (back in the Paisley Radio days) but I never got the chance to use them, because soon afterward I decided to give my show a new format and a new name.

I love the show! It is not only very funny but also informative and insightful, striking a great balance in my view. It is great how you guys are very honest and don't pander...Although I must admit I took a doubletake when someone did not like 'If I was your girlfriend' at all (Captain, was that you? I hold no grudges it just boggled my mind smile )

I discovered the show a couple of years back and have listened to them all now, a great pleasure indeed and I always look forward to the next show. A perfect listen to my morning commute into London.

Yep that is me. I just don't get it. I don't think it's a bad song, it's just not for me..

Maybe one day I'll understand smile

A great idea for a thread. I love listening to their podcasts too and their opinions are great as they diverge amongst themselves a bit. Captain in particular is a true character.

.

I also had the good luck to meet 3 of them at the Cream Prince party back in October 2013 and they were really cool guys. Captain and I had a few discussions about certain tracks off Emnacipation and MC was really cool telling me about the show and everything. They are very humble and not star struck at all. They are pretty much my favourites and being Australians, I can understand them very well as depsite what most Aussies may say, the Kiwi accent is fairly similar to theirs.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

These shows are really great, they have made me appreciate the little genius parts in every song that I never noticed before.

If anyone can be bothered to listen to Captain for a whole hour - not particularly Prince related but there is a fair bit of Prince talk in this particular debut show

haha no, no and sort of...

I think I explained this in a show but maybe not..

I had a band in the olden days and it was called Captain Lemonfoot & The Marshmallow Army

Obviously that ALWAYS got shortened to just 'Captain' and that was it wink
