Prince live on radio 1 ,Simon bates, early 90's Can anyone else remember Prince playing on the Simon Bates show ,he played a medley of songs which included a great slow rap version of "the pope",much better that the version on the greatest hits.I did have a copy which i recorded off the radio but someone borrowed it and never gave it back.It was about the time of the Wemley Stadium dates. It was brilliant.

I totally forgot about that, but now I remember. I had it on tape. It was about half an hour. He played the 1999-Baby I'ma Star-America medley that used to close the Act 2 tour. With the Pope rap included and Peach.

I recorded this off the radio and it is still the best piece of live recording I've heard from anyone. They waxed lyrical for about another half hour after it saying such things as they wished the folks at home could have also seen what an amazing performance it was. Total exhiliration.

It was fabulous! I have good memories of this broadcast, so nice that Prince wanted to coöperate...pleasing many fans who couldn't be there! .

IIRC, I have this performance on a bootleg called Do U Wanna Go Home. Best performance of Pope & Peach I have heard! Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

Best soundquality to my knowledge can be found on Sabotage Records’ "Rock Over Germany" (SAB #010/11). This release covers the full ACT II open air show from Lueneburg, Germany (soundboard), but among the bonus tracks they had the full BBC gig in excellent quality, too. Free the music.
