Fun(ky) song. Love it. Cool that it still gets traction here. . . . . All love.

Push is my 2nd favorite song from D&P, after Gett Off. Especially when Prince says, 'Nah, man, you don't want me on the mic!" Tony M gets too much flak, his contributions to D&P and the Symbol album add flavour. The only rap of his I don't like is on 'My Name is Prince'.

It's a retread of The Ball & Eye No, but I don't mind at all, I love it. Especially the edited version I made to 'de Tony M' it! blah blah blah

I hated it when it came out, I haven't listened to it for years. Maybe I should give it another chance, as I tend to like funk songs a lot more these days than rock or pop songs...

It's lame but that doesn't mean it's not fun.

Ok, I see what you're doing here. Tony M is lame, but Rosie gets a pass?! With that rap segment?! I don't think so. "Well, all U people out there, U better beware That's an introduction how NOT to rap. Overall, I love the song. Dance jam all the way baby!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7yuZ2oCCWs

great song. the strings and Rosie's singing. the rapping is corny but it was 1991 when MC Hammer was the #1 artist

More like push it out of my ass. Song blows. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I'm so glad someone has mentioned this song. It's one of my faves off the Diamonds and Pearls album.

Although it gets no love on the Org, I always thought it's a very funky song and always liked it for that. I think it always gets slated here because no one ever liked Tony C but his rap is dated yes but just fine. The backing track is super funky and Prince's and Rosie's raps are funky too. There's a Rosie vocal way down in the mix towards the end and it's funky as all hell.
Haters everywhere. | |

I am not afraid to admit that Push is a 'guilty sin' for me. It is corny and lightweight but also funky and fun. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
