Some cool info on production of Crystal Ball Box-Set Check this link out:
www.noiseland.com/cball.html Ironically enough, this is the same company that produced the packaging for 2 of my albums! They are a great company and cost efficient. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

If I'd ever received my copy of that set, I'd be able to comment on it. As it stands, I only have the retail version, which I understand has the better, more durable packaging.
I wonder what KamaSutra sounds like. I'd paid for the privilege of hearing it, but never got it.

I wonder what KamaSutra sounds like. I'd paid for the privilege of hearing it, but never got it. I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. The packaging is a load of cheap crap! If you so much as touch it all the discs fall out. As for Kamasutra I've sent you an org. note. Some people are like Slinkies...
They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I was promised it, and then they promised to send THE WAR to make up for being late. Neither arrived... I am a diehard Prince fan, but I will not do business with him direct ever again. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. Noiseland said: The purpose of the custom-packaging was to enhance the value of this limited-edition release, and prevent the possibility of boot-legging (the one ton injection molds were made by hand, and took sixteen weeks to build!). Interesting...make the package difficult to copy. In retrospect, its obvious now that copying the music is the larger problem.Fear is the mind-killer.

I never understood the decision of releasing the 5 disc round sets wíth Tshirt but wíthout booklet.
I ordered the set from the NPGMC and received it without booklet, just doesn't make any sense. The titles weren't on the CDs either. In fact, there are 3 different version: -Round, no booklet, 5 CDs, T shirt (2 kinds of Tshirts) -Round, booklet, 4 CDs -Square, booklet, 4 CDs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....and remember: Members get to hear it last

I know, I know, bitch bitch bitch, but I can't help it, I
had expected so much more from this packaging when Prince kept talking about it being something spectacular that we could "sit on top your coffee table". Well, it certainly wasn't as inventive as a coffeetablebook about coffeetables which in itself could be transformed in2 a coffeetable. No sir, it wasn't even a "ball". Dang. I also thought it was a bit weird to get no booklet with the ball since it came in a box large enough to cary a mammoth's placenta. Ok, so we got Kamasutra, but they could have thrown the booklet in with the rest of the stuff as well. It would have been nice anyway. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

IstenSzek, all it would take for you to bring the admittedly boring-looking packaging of "Crystal Ball"to life is to simply insert the colour booklet into the perspex "ball" and, presto!, the set will look really really cool. My copy now occupies pride of place on my mantlepiece and, believe me, whenever guests happen to drop by the psychedelic-looking "Crystal Ball" never fails to be a great talking point. .
