That's the definitive one for me.
What the heck of a metaphor is this?

Plain and simply what the heck does "Please send all your moonbeam levels to me" mean?

Now THAT one!?? Who the fuck knows!!! I always took it as like a "stairway" type metaphor, something relating to getting into the sky/heaven/another planet for "a better place to die".

The rays of the moon aligned towards earth like a stairway to escape the darkness. A celestial stairway. Pretty much what you said.

Anna Stesia always gives me the creeps since his unborn child event.
Psychic foreseeing at work?

Huh? I don't understand--oh, wait. The "Gregory" thing... because that was the name. Is that what you mean? I still don't see where it's psychic, but the later importance of the name might affect the way one hears it.

.

Or are you talking about something else?

Gregory was Greg Brooks the bodyguard and bodyguards aren't supposed to look nice. The beautiful girl is Ingrid Chavez and the fly away is the XTC trip. I've never done that stuff myself, but I've known other...hmm..."substances" and I know that kind of experience can have a profound impact, if not change your life. So no, AnnaStesia is no mystery to me.

The Gregory-the-ghost Gregory-his-son thing is pretty creepy

1) I agree with the 'moonbeam levels' reference.. what does that even mean?

2) Anotherloverholenyohead... You need another lover like you need a hole in your head.. I never got that AT ALL even after searching it up. I have a feeling its' weird name/chorus is the reason it bombed on the US charts

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

"You need ____ like you need a hole in you head" is a very common idiom in my experience--it just means you don't need it at all. I knew it just as "like you need a hole in your head"--my wife seems to think it usually includes the word another as "like you need another hole in your head." What the chorus means is he's all she needs, so why's she running around looking for someone else?

.

One of my favorite jokes (admittedly a sick one) as a kid was based on the phrase:

.

So Abraham Lincoln said to his wife after a hard day in the Oval Office: Mary, I need to go to a play tonight like I need a hole in the head."

No, the quote says "another hole in your head". We normally have seven: two for the eyes, two for the ears, two for the nostrils, and one for the mouth. So the phrase basically means, you have enough, why do you need more?

Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see
I can be in a park, or flying in the…in the deep sea
I wish u’d hold my hand; then everything could b
There’s nothing strange, we’re not deranged
We only want everyday 2 b a Cosmic Day

It's a non-sensical line meant to make the recipient of said line say, "I don't understand"...which means 'I love u'.

Prince, that tricky mynx!

I'm totally good with that.

I symbolic stairway to heaven...which would be a better place to die. In context of the song, almost sounds like a plea for heaven to take him as the world is very crazy to him...

Yep, as I noted my wife knew it with the "another"--however, I knew it primarily without the "another". Yes, everybody has the holes you describe--but if you say a body is found with a hole in the head, you're not going to think it's one of those.

Well there a few I don't get like ...

Come
Lie down beneath my shadow
Lie down beneath my shadow with great delight
And your feel will be sweet to me
Come
My left hand under your head,
While my right embraces time
Therein, my virgin, love's wine

With every other flick of the pink plush
The closer we get 2 the space

Lie down, (fair one, pheromone), and come away

I want to top the rose petals that whisper sweet

The Come album makes no sense to me ? He's to cryptic on that one but I knew all the others . wink cool
All of this and more is 4 u. With <3, sincerity and deepest care, my life with u eye share ~Prince~

Here is another song that throws me off... Yellow:

Yellow's a happenin' color
If U're a banana
Countin' the days until U're a prune
But blue's a better color
If U're lookin' 4 a lover
2 show your pretty colors 2

This truly sounds nonsensical to me confused

This is so easy to understand if you are African American. Prince is saying that to be light skinned, in his mind, is cool if you are older, however, if you are a dark skinned African American male with a chocolate banana, the women want you more sexually and not the "yellow" banana. The "blacker the berry, sweeter the juice" mindset. Prince felt like the girls, perhaps when he was younger, desired the "dark" banana more than his "yellow" banana. Also remember, Prince wanted to be handsome and tall like his brother in another song...his brother Dwayne? or His brother Andre Cymone? This lyric does make perfect sense. I understood exactly what Sheila was saying when I first heard the lyric. It literally is a "black" thang!!! But once again, Prince knows what he is trying to say even if we don't. nod
