But just wait to you get to a Purple Circle Level 7 and obtain. "Hey, Louie Louie"#3. It's a very cold and lonely place to be. It's the badlands of caring and being a completionist. Big Chick is strong but thats a lot of pain.

I agree. I was really surprised that the Hip hop mix had alternate lyrics. Never heard that version. At an afterparty i was in the Dj area and i looked at the test pressing for the Hot X-perience and I will say that the house mix that debuted on the Npgaudio show was titled "House Wit U". I would love to hear that in a non-edited form. Thats the whip.

. Because there's too much hassle involved: knowing it's out there, finding a decent copy, debating whetherh it's the real thing, which version, whether it's tagged,... . The simple fact that you have to dig through layers of shit before you get to these things really is detrimental to their perception. It's like truffles: I bet people who love to eat them would do so a lot less if they were the ones to go find them in the woods. . If all of this was easy to find, you wouldn't have a five page thread where four pages consist of "meta"-discussion. © Bart Van Hemelen

Over the past several weeks, I've acquired about 8-9 different versions of Computer Blue. I have no idea which ones are which, the story behind them, etc. I don't have time to compare the sound quality. I have no idea which ones were artificially cleaned up or "enhanced" by collectors, if any. I'm glad I have them, I guess, but it's time consuming and annoying to sift through all this stuff. Also, some of these new compilations are weak. It's cool to get the few songs that are new or truly better versions. But all the shit everyone already has is just annoying. Blast from the Past 3.0 looks like it's a blast from my ass. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

It's a close approxiamation for those periods but you have to take into consideration that theres a crazy amount of alternate versions of those songs plus songs that have been released. And sometimes a good alternate version is like listening to completely new song.

I can totally agree on all those points. It is aggravating. The truffles anaology is apt.

According to the guy on Guitars:
hmmm....not sure if this test press is legit, Days Of Wild sounds exactly the same sound quality as the outtake bootlegs. Its not digital'/perfect sound as you would expect from a CDR test press.
Even though the radio stations were given a DAT of those outtakes for broadcast the bootlegs that were made and ergo the source were recorded over FM, off the radio...which is why they are not direct digital copies from DAT.....ergo why Days sounds a bit muddy.
I wish these guys would STOP with all the fake bs......!!!, we're hardcore fans, we know sources and sound quality like the back of our hands. All these bloody fake fan edits of outtakes, extending tracks by cut and paste and looping sections of songs....WE CAN TELL! [Edited 4/13/15 14:09pm] "I like to watch."
