I agree those two are better. Pleased to have It's A Wonderful Day in this quality. SEx Shooter was also miles better than I previously had, but the version I had I've had for years so this might not be a big upgrade to others.
The big disappointment for me was Wonderful Ass was the 1986 version. I suspected it was but as it was put with the 1983 stuff I kinda hope it would have been the earlier version.
Also Go is no better just the same as previous version glitches and all.
Hope Volume 4 will offer more.

Jesus this is a shitty set. I was expecting some remastering and maybe something special. A lot of the tracks have awful limiting on them and some are worse quality than what was leaked recently. - 2.0 was great. This is just sloppy. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Is Sex Shooter really that much better? If so, that is the only reason to want to own this set.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yep, exactly what I expected from these profit rehashers. Busy doin' something close to nothing
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
So I'm guessing that several of you have the set now? And the reports so far are that it's not got much improvement, except maybe on Schoolyard and It's A Wonderful Day? . WHAT ABOUT DAY TRIPPER?????!!!!!! .

Daytripper is a good song. I think margie cox on vocal. It is upbeat with a nice laidback rap by tony m that elevates the song.similar style to rap he did in willing and able. I like it it also as a funky baseline. [Edited 4/23/15 15:08pm] [Edited 4/23/15 15:09pm]

.....in few months..we will talk about a Blast04. ...the vault at PP is always open it seems!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
who knows . The inner circle as let go of a few descent stuff of late so i think it is mainly upto them more so than blast series.. I wish they just did not swap half songs with each as from the leak that seemed to be what happened as they probably did not wanted to let go of full songs. That is impression i got.

Maybe someone will do the decent thing and leak those tracks before EYE can profit from them Bitch this ain't the movies

They will still profit, whether the tracks are leaked or not. Theres always a stupid person willing to buy a stupid product, and Prince fans are a prime example... [Edited 4/24/15 5:22am] Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

After listening to the set last night, I will say that "I Wonder" is in best quality I've ever heard the song in.

Interesting that you would say that, I'm compelled to ask, why? The leak to me sounds the best, the version on this bootleg has what I'm assuming is a hard limiter applied to it. It's most highlighed when listening to the main vocal, as it's compressed/ increased in volume between beats. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Not specifically on BFTP 3.0, but if you are generally talking of collectors who simply wants factory pressed CDs.... well, I'm proud to be stupid.
In this world there's enough space for collector of CDs and downloaders of digital files.

[Edited 4/24/15 5:22am] I know they will sell out anyway regardless, but if something's about to drop on a profit label then there's no real reason for collectors to hang onto it right? All those excuses about not breaking a promise/using for trade/keeping it of bootleggers hands etc become invalid. Plus they get to stick one up to a profit label. There's some newish tracks widely circulating now (get wild, SST instrumental, 2 versions of song of the heart + others) I wonder if these will also be used to pad it out to 4 discs Bitch this ain't the movies

Out of the two versions of "Song of the Heart". One version is just the regular version that appeared on the soundtrack. The other is "Song of the Heart (TV Track)" which is just an instrumenatl version of the song. There also exists an official edit of "Love 2 the 9's"(4:13) which eliminates the Q&A section"Name-Arabia" and Prince's spoken word rap after that. It cuts to the Dance girl let me see the booty boom" then a record rewind type sound effect.

The version from the leak was taken off of Foefur's Deposition (Remaster). That version runs too fast. This version sounds the closest to how it originally sounded on the tape from 91 that surfaced with this track. "Big Tall Wall" and "She's Just a Baby" are from the tape as well. I am not a fan of whatever eye does sound eq wise on these songs.

It does sound good but I've never felt comfortable with the lyrics of Schoolyard. . I Wonder sounds really good on this and Day Tripper is a real surprise. Was this totally unknown of? Wonder what the story is behind this. Margie Cox and Tony M doing a Beatles song is random but I quite like it
