What is the best video version of Purple Rain currently available?

So, a strong Prince fan friend of mine has committed the sacrilege of having not yet viewed the MOVIE. I aim to correct this mortal sin by providing a dvd of Purple Rain as a wedding present, and there are SO many versions and opinions about which is the best version, I put it to the masters here on the board to please assist my decision.

If they don't have a blu-ray the 2 disc special edition is very good - I think its the 25th anniversary edition
