The fact that there exisits a solo Prince version of the "Dopamine Rush" is such a revelation. The word "Dopamine" started appearing on Prince's suit jackets during the US leg on the Lovesexy tour and more predominatley during the Japanese leg of the tour. "Joy Fantastic" also appeared on Prince's clothing during that period as well. It seemed that doing this, it was in someway his way of teasing whats cooking or coming next. It's quite possible that the song was intended for a solo album project and later expanded upon for the Madhouse 24 album.

for some reason I like the previous versions better.........maybe because I played them over and over again........and maybe it is just me but a cleaner sounding version doesn't add value for me.......sometimes I like the lower quality because it makes you feel like you are really listening to stuff that nobody else around you owns, like you are in a dark basement somewhere hearing shit you were not supposed to ever hear

Exactly, it becomes (returns to?) a more Prince solo track, rather than a Madhouse track. Imagine if the only Joy In Repetition we ever heard was one with Eric Sax instead of Prince Vocal, then you finally get to here the original - it would blow you away. maybe this isn't on that level but it does elevate it for me to a higher level.
