"I Hate U"

because I was going through a very difficult time dealing

with the fact that my love of my life had been having an affair

and that my future with him was not gonna happen, we also

had a 4 year old son together at the time.

I don't know why, but after hearing this song, it gave me strength

to let go, to move on with my life knowing I would be raising our son alone.

It also helped me deal with my intense pain, kinda like Prince had

that same pain as I did.........so that's why "I Hate U"

helped change my life for the greater good...

thanks for sharing this with me...

Despite being an atheist, Love...thy will be done, came around on my way to my gram'pa John's funeral. The situation played into a longer set of moments and occasions. It surprisingly reinforced how I was ending up thinking about, what is for me, the concept of 'god.'

A performance of Face Down in '97 or '98 in San Diego during the Love4OneAnother charity tour helped me come to the decision that i wasn't going to be able to make a career(to my satisfaction) at playing bass. From that performance on....bass guitar remained a hobby and stopped being a career aspiration.

Money Doesn't Matter

I had just lost my cousin-and got my first real job. I played the grooves off that song
since Run & Them were saying "Here we go"

EroticDreamer

17 Days.

My 2 brothers and I grew up in several foster homes and I dreamed of having a family of my own.

At 18 I found a dream job at JPL making great money and fell in luv with the most beautiful girl in the world. But she was psychotic and lied about being pregnant 'just to see if I really luved her'. (Her best friend confessed to me that she had planned it from the start).

-

I was so brokenhearted over her lies that I lost my position at JPL (because I didn't show up for 2 weeks, didn't even call in) and would sometimes drive my motorcycle right through red lights (jeopordizing myself and fellow drivers). Lost 10 pounds and cried like a sissy. Must have played 17 Days on repeat 15 hours a day for weeks.

-

Seems so silly now, not being able to deal with it, but 17 Days was there like a shoulder to cry on.

I may have crashed their car staring at the CD player in disbelief when I heard 'Wedding Feast' for the first time. Broke both my legs. That was life changing*

* and untrue.

"The most beautiful girl in the world"-background-My sister introduced me to her classmate and best friend in 1985 because of our mutual love for Prince...after getting together, breaking up, then reconnecting, we finally got married in 1994, at the height of the popularity of TMBGITW. She didn't know I had picked that song to be our first dance. She was and still is the love of my life. She passed away from cancer at the young age of 32 in 2001.

Cream.

Years and years ago...
I was fired from a high profile position in a high profile way for asserting my rights to my intellectual property.
I was pushed itno entreprenuership to continue my career ....I was now renting space paying bills, building a business. One client became 10...etc,,,,one employee became 30.....

I played it when I cried from rejection, I played it when I had panic attacks from not knowing how I would pay rent, I played it to drown out everyone telling me I was nothing, I wouldnt make it and that my career was dead. I played Cream when my friends became sabateurs and thieves. I played Cream when they said I was emotinally unstable because I fired the fck out of people who were saboteurs and theives. Cuz 'wimmmens be crazy' ....CREAM running through my head as a heartbeat now...understanding and trusting my instincts are spot on and right.

I played Cream in my headphones at night... and I reprogrammed every negative thought into a positive one, and learned I am best outside the box, and that my individuality, how I THINK is my strongest weapon, my best ally and my pot of gold at the end of my own rainbow.

Cream changed how I swam against a sea of NO.

I wore out 4 discs and more than a few walkmans. smile
