Prince and the Band
Empty Room All The Critics Love U In New York All at the Xenophobia celebration [Edited 3/14/15 7:18am] Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Just had a chance to look at the set lists of the shows I've seen. Here's my 3: 1. Pearls Before Swine 2. The Ghetto (do covers count?) Both during the sound check the Toronto ONA show in 2002. 3. U Will B (Toronto, 2011) Fun fact: That same show featured the first performance-ish of Extralovable - he worked some lyrics into Little Red Corvette.

picking songs he's only played once, there's more than 3. you can't get any rarer than being played once, except perhaps if rarity means less people where there, in which case
the whole of the moon at ronnie scotts you've got a friend at paisley park only love can hurt like this at koko
a few more
1000 hugs and kisses dont talk 2 strangers tangerine wherever you go whatever you do man o war
were only played once too
there must be a few more on top that he's done only once and i was there, especially at paisley and indigo2 and aftershows etc

I'm confused. I thought the point of this thread was to answer: What's the top 3 rarest played songs you have seen P play. To me, this meant what rare songs have you seen Prince perform live in concert/aftershow/etc.
I sense that the thread means different things to diffeent people at this point

Aside from numbnuts claiming he/she saw Prince do Crystal Ball, what makes you think people aren't reporting the stuff they've seen personally? Edit: OK, I see numbnuts part 2 just above your post. [Edited 3/14/15 20:42pm]

I've only seen Prince 8 times. So I don't know how rare these are, but I get the feeling that he doesn't play them often. All of these songs were perfromed in LA between 2009 and 2014. Sorry, I had to list more than 3 .

I also heard him play Mountains at the HOB last time he was in Chicago. Don't know how much he played that in the 80s, so I don't know how rare it is. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
