What's missing from Work It 2.0?

As stated on the banner at the top of the forum:

NO TROLL THREADS! NO SOLICITING FOR BOOTLEGS! Discussion is fine ; requests/offers to copy and links to bootleg sites are not. Posting Prince and associated artist videos from sites such as YouTube is also not allowed. Posts of this nature will be deleted and repeat offenders will be first warned, and then banned. Troll threads, fake tracklists, and attention seeking rumor threads will be also be swiftly dealt with. These rules are strictly enforced!

I'm hoping to compile a list of what isn't on what is arguably the definitive collection of Prince outtakes and I wouldn't mind some help. I will list what I can of the top of my head, but will also add your recommendations. This can include new sources (this doesn't include remasters) newely leaked songs/ remixes and of course, stuff that was just left off.

There's a newer cleaner source of Dinner With Delores demo that's not on there.

I always thought it was odd that "When Doves Scream" was absent from The Work (or Work It) collection. If it wasn't for Testament 2.0 Revelations, I would never have heard the track.

Same can be said for the following:

- Alphabet St (Acoustic Demo)

- An Honest Man (Live piano ballad version)

- There's No Telling What I Might Do

There are more but the above are the ones that readily come to mind.

There's a remix of" Guitar" ? When did that circulate or do you mean the demo that didn't have any guitar use in the song?

When Doves Scream was from a rehearsal or soundcheck during the Purple Rain Tour so it's really just a rehearsal jam, not an outtake or unreleased song.

It's often labled as a demo, but it clearly isn't.

Great theard! Thanks for bringing it up.

The Razormaid remix of Housequake (actually called "It's Not My Fault Mix", probably because the DJ who made it wanted to say it wasn't his fault Prince rejected it) doesn't belong on an outtakes compilation, though, because though rare it's not unreleased at all. Prince rejected it for his own 12" but Razormaid was allowed to release it on one of their own compilations later in 1987 (exact release date unknown). the compilation was titled "Razormaid Chapter M-16".

The list above also contains several tracks that, though not released, were officially streamed by Prince. I'm not sure those tracks should be included if we don't want the list to spiral out of control. We should stick to leaks of unreleased, unaired, unstreamed material.

Well if anybody did get it in their heads to put together a "companion volume" to work it 2.0, that would be AWESOME. Some of the tracks people suggested in my "fave unreleased songs" thread aren't on it.

This is the reason. Work It didn't include live/rehearsal stuff as a rule - iirc, Electric Intercourse was not on for this reason.

Even the studio version of Electric Intercourse isn't on there? That's weird. It's on the Work.

There is no studio version of Electric Intercourse. Only two rehersals and the live version.

So what is that version of Vol 1 disc 3 of The Work. It was so clear I always thought it was a studio version.

Most likely one of the rehersal versions.

I also realize that I was totally unaware of the 2 Guitar remixes! Never heard 'em and very curious eek

OK I realize u meant the demo and the Andy Allo version, so not only were they also from official sources but they demo was available for purchase and the acoustic one as a free download, therefore both were officially released.
