Night Before The Reign...Amen! Just listened to Night Before The Reign for the first time in a long time and all I can say is, "DAYUUM!" It blows me away now as much as when I first heard it...that version of Something in the Water is out of this world. Still can't believe P had to beg the crowd to listen to his live version of When Doves Cry. Man, that's one performance I definitely wish I had been at... This is my favorite bootleg. So fucking good. No other artist sounds like this. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Yep it's one of the best. 17 Days is my favorite if I had to pick. Brown Mark was so on it that night! "Hey, I got the butta 4 ya muffin, honey.. I'm just 2 old 2 hold the knife!"

The transition from Our Destiny into Roadhouse Garden kicks my ass every time. It's so funky. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

How many of you have the version with the opening of Shortberry Strawcake playing? . Not one song on this album that was not electric and perfect . Erotic City Noon Rendezvous Something In the Water... Our Destiny Roadhouse Garden 17 Days

I wish my version didn't have the audio blur/fade out for a brief while during the first chorus of Something in the Water. Perhaps that's all versions. But shit. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

I have the one with the Shortberry Strawcake/drum check opening. No real noticable fade or blur on my Something In The Water. To me it's the best sounding one out there. It's a FBG_4DF release. Night Before the Reign is just the Eye Records bullshit for-profit rip of this release right?

Yep that's the one I have. "Hey, I got the butta 4 ya muffin, honey.. I'm just 2 old 2 hold the knife!"

Noon Rendezvous is maybe my favorite. Great boot! Everybody stop on the 1...GOOD GOD! Uhh!

Does the non-Eye Records version also have blurry audio for a brief moment during the first chorus of Something in the Water? "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

. If you look at the notes on the bottom of the back cover you see there was work done to fix it. I think it's a great job because it's not noticable. And I'm pretty nitpicky on that sort of thing. "Hey, I got the butta 4 ya muffin, honey.. I'm just 2 old 2 hold the knife!"

Thanks! Very interesting. I just wanted to make sure my files weren't shoddy or something. That's awesome that people stepped up to patch the audio with audience recordings. Drives me mad that the tape had to be flipped in the middle of the most outstanding version of Something in the Water. Such an incredible performance. They did a really good job of fixing what they could on it.

When that boot dropped in soundboard it was the greatest thing I had ever heard as a Prince fan. It reminded me why I fell in love with his music as a teen. Erotic City intro, Noon Rendevous, Brown Mark's bass on 17 Days...

I was curious if the overall quality is far better than that provided on disc 2 of Purple Rush 5? I suppose soundboard would have to be a dramatic uptick in quality.

Montreux 2013 also is about as good.

Yeah, it's a lot better, if you missed the soundboard release that came out a few years ago and are still listening to the aud I'd grab it as soon as you can, it's incredible. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

ziggodome does not compete with it . it beats it easily. the recording is very clear for audience recording and i would take it over night before reign every day of the week .I honestly believe ziggodome 2014 was a better show. The revolution band he had were probably his worst in terms of musicianship. His band from gold experience era michael b sonny t etc were miles better. Also the revolution got better around sott era with sheila e and eric leeds added He does play a unusual setlist and same with small club and i feel these are only rated so high because of this. Its still a great release and from that era this and the benefit show are the the most interesting
if you were talking albums no way does is rescent albums compete with purple rain. But if he put days of wild back on gold experience i would prefer that to purple rain even though it flopped.
