Agreed. I want updates from Warner Bros though. Not Prince, not Prince's associates on Twitter and Facebook, not from Dr. Funkenberry but from WB directly. I can only imagine that WB won't greenlight another studio album from Prince or 3RDEYEGIRL for release until WB can release the long-awaited Purple Rain digital remaster. WB did their job by releasing AOA/PE globally at retail and online, while Prince sat out actively promoting the albums.

thats a scary thought! But he was dropping songs on the internet left right and centre, in the last 4 year period before. And still doing shows etc. At the yahoo show, a few months ago , Josh slipped out that there already had another album, pretty much ready. Anyhow lets hope there is something on the horizon. On a side note, Well done to Madonna for supporting her Album with a world tour. Prince take note Please!

What are you complainign about? You've just heard about his love for some sports dude! Just look at all the effort Prince put in to make sure that Jon Bream reported that earthshattering news! (And then compare it to the promo Prince did for AOA.)

Announced months in advance, no less. No "hey I might be appearing somewhere in the vicinity of X tomorrow evening" and then not putting on a concert while hundreds are waiting outside and then blaming it on "internet gossip" and pretending your semi-official mouthpieces never said a thing.

The bigger question is why his longtime fans/detractors ever expected him to snap right back into "Record Company Artist" mode after all he has said and done over two whole d.e.c.a.d.e.s.

Selling records doesn't pay much compared to performing on a prestige level, where he can get the organizers to pay him over a million dollars for a few attendees in one night. Legacy? That's for him to care about, especially with the kind of "fans" he has.

The truth is Prince's brand is so strong he doesn't need (or want to do) what Madonna and the rest are doing, so we'll likely won't get much news.

You mean the kind of fans that queue for hours outside a venue in the freezing cold in the hope of seeing a show? Why would Prince sign to WARNERS if he still just wants to live of his legacy. He could do that by releasing things straight onto the Internet, do some greatest hits shows every now and again when the money gets lower! I think Prince still wants to be reverent today, not just from yesterday. Remember this guy is a genius, and demands alot of his fans too sometimes. Just hoping for some kind of news that's all. From Warners or anyone

I guess like AntonB - I miss the days when we had 3-4-5 single releases from every album,


Album promotion, with a leading "hit" single... (Prince and a "hit" - haha )......

- and then a single every 4-5 weeks, with longer versions and b-sides... seems like Prince does not care about this at all.. no more.

I know he has released some song in 2013-14, but they were so bad it hurts..

The songs on Art Official Age are much better, but why would or should Prince support the album with proper videos and single releases..?!

Ah, well. He's still a cranky, extremely negative and weird poster. If I hated half the things Prince has done even half as much as he does, I'd have stopped posting here years ago just to save myself the fucking grief of it all.
