I was going to bump that old thread from a few months ago, but, it's closed, so...

Montreux 2013, man I slept on this one! When the original audience boots leaked out shortly after the shows I couldn't get into the quality and was not digging them. Then when the FBG soundboard leaked back in November I was still grooving to the new albums and just generally busy with life. Then came the D'angelo & Funkadelic releases, not to mention the holidays and all that goes with that and, well, I never got around to digging into FBG's release.

This week, looking for something to hype myself for tonight's show in Louisville, I dug this out.
I can't get enough of this set. Been playing it all week. Love it!

I'll have to listen to this again--Night 3 is the best from what I recall. It doesn't grab me like Montreux 2009 but there are some good performances. Have a great time at the concert! And give us a review, please!

I may need to give this a third listen, because my first two passes didn't thrill me. Especially the big band sound. It could be that I was so spoiled by the 2009 set that I was set up for disappointment. His 2009 Montreaux performance is easily my favorite show of the past 15 years, maybe longer.

Man, back in the day I used to get free boots from the owner one of the major labels. Nowadays I have to read about "new" soundboard releases on the org.

This was a free boot, from fans to fans. It's probably still floating out there. Read my original post again and put your search engine skills to work. It's worth the effort.
