Prince joke on The Simpsons I was reading about that episode of The Simpsons which features Michael (Stark Raving Dad or some shit like that, I don't remember) and I read something interesting... apparently, Michael requested to make some minor revisions to the script (which of course, him being him, was granted) and one of these little tweaks was replacing one of the jokes about Prince to one about Elvis instead..
Maybe do, just not like did before

You could be right about Michael being tired of being lumed together with Prince. My only other guess would be that he may have thought that Elvis was more on his level of superstardom and didn't want anyone to be mistaken about it.

Wasn't Prince supposed to be in an episode too? But when the writers wouldn't use the script his limo driver/bodyguard wrote he decided he didn't want to be involved anymore?

prince wrote a song for the Simpson's that was recorded for an album "the Yellow Album" called "My Name is Bart" it was okay... nothing special. Nancy Cartwright singing a parody of MNIP.
And I do think there was a show in the works but I am not sure how far along it got. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

There have been several Prince references on the Simpsons through the years. This is my favorite.....when Milhouse meets Milhouse...

Then there's the one with all the greyhounds where there is the dog bowl that says "prince" and then the next one says "the dog formerly known as prince"....too funny! [Edited 2/27/15 15:15pm]

He gave them permision, then withdrew. From whayt I understand, he didnt actually write the lyrics. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

My favorite one was where they were showing all the nerds expressing their anger over something on the internet, back when the internet was brand new - it might have been when they added Poochie to the Itchy & Scratchy lineup. It pops up a series of faces typing furiously at their screens, first it's all the nerds from Springfield, and then Prince shows up as one of the faces. Kind of a joke on the idea that, you never know who you're talking to on the internet, and that Prince is so weird, he might just spend his time commenting on Itchy & Scratchy fan forums.
