CMIIW it seems that he never actually took a firm position on the drugs issue, and it's not clear whether he's into them or not.

Of course everyone knows about the Black Album urban legend. But apart from that, AFAIK Prince is a squeaky clean person (one of his few qualities I admire given his popstar stature), doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, and according to Arsenio Hall, he doesn't even drink.

I think the majority of this forum has accepted that Prince has experimented, may still smoke Mary Jane every now and again and nobody really cares about it.

I doubt it. A guy who's still as sharp as he is and looks as young as he does at that age usually lives a pretty healthy lifestyle.

People think guys like Chris Tucker or Eddie Murphy are on some kind of drugs or at least MJ, but in reality they don't.

It is pretty clear yes, do your homework. Prince has been known to drink moderately on occasions, and to take ecstasy once in 1987. Except from that and a some questionable gossip that's it, period, and all possible known associates have always said they've never seen him take any drugs of any sort, and that he was firmly against his bandmembers doing them as well. So yes, it's pretty clear indeed.

Taking drugs once or twice out of curiousity is one thing, doing drugs because you're into it is another. So, no it's not "pretty clear."

well in an O(+>time frame interview (i think one of the ones Mayte was giving answers for that Prince whispered to her) the question was asked and the answer was something like "We are interested in all experiences"


And there was a well established rumor in the same time frame that he got really upset and did a whole lot of drugs...

But I doubt he was ever a heavy user.

As databank pointed out it is very well known that Prince is anti drugs in general. There are plenty of referances in his music and from real life aquantainces to back this up. No controversy here.
