uuhhh, come on guys, everyone knows they have released two Albums ("8" and "16"). A third one ("24") was deleted and never officially released.
Band members were John Lewis, Dale Alexander, Eric Leeds & Atlanta Bliss for the studio recordings. They opened for Prince on the SOTT-Tour 1987 with a partly different cast, as far as i know. Miles Davis never played on these recordings. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Are these recordings hard to come by?Would like to hear what prince could really do with all his attention on his guitar. Some acoustic work would be down to hear.

They're quite like the instrumentals on The Family LP.
Miles Davis did NOT have any input - sheesh!! --------------------

I thought those Madhouse records were basically P playing all of the instruments, and then bringing in Eric to add the horn arrangements,I thought Eric said this recently. I thought those Madhouse records were basically P playing all of the instruments, and then bringing in Eric to add the horn arrangements,I thought Eric said this recently. The first Madhouse lp (entitled 8) featured Prince on all instruments barring sax and flute. Dr. Fink makes a guest appearance on track 2 playing the synth solo. All tracks written by Prince probably with contributions from Eric. The second Madhouse lp (entitled 16) is also all Prince and Eric barring three tracks which were performed by Prince, Eric, Sheila, Levi, and Fink. (Forgive me for not remembering which tracks were played by this lineup.) All tracks written by Prince probably with contributions from Eric. The original Madhouse 24 lp (assembled in late 1988) was never released, and the track 'Jailbait' has been played live by Miles Davis. 'The Dopamine Rush Suite' from this album eventually surfaced (in edited form) as 'Dopamine Rush' on Eric Leeds's Times Squared lp from 1991. The second Madhouse 24 lp featured Prince, Mike Bland, Sonny Thompson, Levi Seacer, and Eric Leeds. This was also never released. All tracks written by Prince probably with contributions from Eric. -SWANGthemadhousefan

"8" and "16" were officially released, but have been out of print for ages. If you see a copy in a used shop, snatch it up - they go for about $60.00 per disc minimum on eBay. neither version of "24" was ever released, although most (if not all) of the songs are available on various bootlegs. *

The vinyl is easy to come by.
I always wanted the CDs, but they go for a bomb on Ebay like you say. I'm holding out, maybe I'll find them cheap somewhere. I bought the Vanity 6 CD for £5, and the Jill Jones CD for £7 - so you never know --------------------
