Elton John not only performed with Prince in London. Elton showed up to other concerts in 2009 to see Prince perform. The NBA player was mad about the unauthorized changes to his rental house, but Prince tipped him 1 million dollars to put it back the way it was. Which was more than enough to do that. NBA player was very pleased.

The Steve Albini comment recently was pretty bad. It seemed to come out of nowhere and you really shouldn't be allowed to accuse someone of beating women just because you like being seen as a hardass yourself. Nobody can take it away from the guy that he wouldn't be respected and admired in the alternative music circles, although he's known to be very hard to deal with.

elephant said: I think a lot of these people are fans. Boy George making bitchy comments is part of his whole persona. If you read his autobiography there are a number of Prince references and it reads like he craved prince's approval somehow - iirc, it was about 20 years ago I read it. I think there was something about him being thrilled when he met Vanity and she told him Prince thought Karma Chamaeleon was a 'bad tune' or something along those lines.
I have read Keith Richards having pops at Prince a few times. It seems Jagger was a fan and Richards wasn't. I seem to remember him coming round at the RRHOF performance. Funnily enough I think both Richards and Boy George have a go at each other in their autobios, some incident on a Caribbean island.
Boy George admired his music but disliked that he was so distant. He said something along the lines of "how can such an horrible man write something as great as The Beautiful Ones"? Keith Richards was always very harsh toward other musicians, or at least he didn't have many kind words. I remember him saying Prince played like his guitar was a toy, but he also was very supportive of his playing at the RRHOF

I remember in the late 80s,Keith Richards said something like "Prince is the Monkees of this generation....his whole thing is,he just likes to fool the industry...play games with his music"

Arsenio dissed Prince at an awards show in the 90's. He was introducing Fresh Prince for something and said "Ok ya'll this the Fresh Prince not the stale Prince". I'm surprised that went under Prince's radar

That just sounds like a bad joke, a play on words, not a diss to Prince. |

Yes the Arsenio comment was referring to the Fresh Prince not being so fresh. We all know that Arsenio and Prince are good friends and very tight. They were back then and they still are today.

But Prince respected her 'frankness' too though

Madonna's date is looking at Prince like he wants to do him after dinner. Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Naw it was a deliberate swipe at Prince. In the context of the show Prince was mentioned earlier about something. Arsenio is too witty to say a joke that corny. I think it was in 1990 after Graffiti Bridge flopped

One more Madonna and Prince pic just to show a little more love between them despite Madonna's snarky ways
