I've come across a track called the residents

Can anyone give me some information about it or when it was recorded...that is assuming it's original.

Dont know but I love the Residents themselves.

I do know that the Residents (yes, a great little band) did cover "1999" at one point. They used to post monthly mp3's on the "Ralph America" site and this was one of them. In fact, it may have been something they did once a month during the year 1999. Anyway, they eventually released a CD through Ralph's website with all the tracks on it, including "Nineteen Ninety-Nine". The album is called "dot.com", in case you ever want to get it. But if you've never heard the Residents before, BEWARE! The Eyeballs are not even remotely similar to The Purple One...

i actually really dig The Residents' version of 1999 - it's basically the only version i can stand to listen to anymore...

from the one album i have (their most recent, "demons dance alone"), i gotta say that anx is right (DUH): insane genius at work. this is the kinda cd that took me...jeez, i dunno, a month or so to really appreciate...and everytime i listen still, it seeps more into my marrow. y'know, kinda like prince's wreckas used to back in the day.
