Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

AOA is in my top 7 Prince albums. In no particular order 1999, SOTT, Purple Rain, Lovesexy, Batman, The Slaughterhouse & AOA.

It's a decent little album. Comparing it to PR and SOTT though? Come on.

I will go furthe and say it is nowhere close to any previous WB album and even Emancipation. Its in the top 10 albums after those for me but thats about it.

It's no longer on heavy rotation here in the Sausage Kingdom, but I still think it's his best and most consistent album since TGE. I'm excited to hear it again in a few months after I give it some rest. So many great songs.

AOA is a very consistent album but I don't understand the love for TGE. In the inmortal words of Randy Jackson "TGE is patchy dog.............."

AOA is as good as anythning prince has ever done and yes it is up there with pr and sott. If it had been released in the 80s it would have had hit singles and been a big seller.

Those who give it any attention will c that it is a genius record 9.5/10 for me.

I like the new album for what it is. I don't to need to compare it to another one. AOA has that typical Prince sound without him repeating himself.

AOA and PE were in semi-heavy rotation in my place for about two days. Now I very rarely listen to Another Love or Time, that's it. I'd really love to love AOA but it's just not doing it for me. It's not a bad album but I haven't found anything to excite me either. It's one of the blander Prince albums. And I find U know with its awful grunting and Breakdown with its lame lyrics betraying what could have been a great song downright annoying.

Tough to say how it compares to his heyday but I do know that I am spinning it much more than the 80's tracks. The strong songs continue to grow on me, while others have wained just a tad but that is to be expected.

Clouds, TCBU, WBH, UKnow, Time, TISWIFL continue to impress, especially on headphones.
Don't really skip anything.

Would love to see a high concept video for the album although that is as likley as budgies flying out of my posterior.

I agree, like it 4 what it is, but when people say 'it's up there with 1999 Purple Rain Parade SOTT' ...come on.
No reason to compare to that period

But that also says and reminds us that 'that was the Golden period of Purple Music'

cool I love AOA and lots of Plectrum Electrum. Prince is amazing, his music is always light years ahead of the masses and I like the video too. Prince and Donna look and sound so sublime guitar guitar

TIME still gets a lot of play from me, but only on my home stereo--a good speaker system with subwoofers are needed to really appreciate that bass that kicks in.
