From listening to the boot, that is something that really stood out. I've never heard Prince sound so humble and open. He's really funny too. Hundalasiliah!

After that moment it was clear to me that I would always buy anything he releases, regardless of whether I like it or not, and would always go to his concerts, no matter what. He could be 90 years old and broke, barely able to walk, with nothing but an old acoustic guitar and a cheap keyboard, I don´t care, I would always support him. That experience plus all the wonderful, uplifting music he has released over the years, his positive attitude and demeanor and all the great concerts are something I´ll always be grateful for, regardless of some of the aspects I criticize sometimes. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

So many memories of that week also... I didn't slavishly attend all of it, as it was too much Candy for me! Lol However Prince's acoustic set will live long in the memory, not least because you just didn't want it to end. That was an incredible night, everyone sat in chairs but he then came back for a part two where it was like the reincarnation of Ray Charles...Prince on his Xenophobia organ and the band, amazing basically. Another moment which isn't often referred to was I think the encore of the first night. Prince had earlier played a show of his One Nite Alone live set, he may have even been filming it. It didn't move me like the encore though...a mellow and heartfelt performance of Joy In Repetition (nothing like the guitar fest version that was released as part of the live set). That gave me goosebumps. Prince and his partner sitting at the back of the room during Bernard Allison...very surreal. Especially when Bernard wandered right over to them during a solo! Another moment I loved was the 18minute funk version of Peach...still dig that. Regrets? Not attending all of the workshops...was having fun with people I met on the trip!! Also not seeing Victor Wootens full set, what I saw of it was great. The final night set, part 1 almost reduced me to tears Prince on the piano, Najee on the flute etc. although the Purple Rain church sermon/ode to God was a divisive moment which created some discomfort. It was a moment in time and an amazing experience that I'll never forget. T
