I really like this song. I think the way it starts up as a big sweeping ballad runs completely contrary to the lyrics/meaning of the song. The way the lyrics start very schmaltzy and get progressively darker as the song goes on is immense.

I understand where you're coming from, but it's perfectly valid turn of phrase to be said to be a "victim of suicide". Victim is most commonly used to describe someone who has been affected by a crime, but someone can be a victim of any action even if it's their own. Just as people can be said to "see themselves as a victim."

That's not how i interpret these lyrics at all....I believe Wilber was about to get blasted by the singer, but Cherry killed herself before any of that could happen. Many people who commit suicide are described as being "A victim" of suicide. Cherry had enough o' Wilber.
