It's Time...

It's time for a new direction
It's time for jazz to die
4th Day of December
We need a purple high

I was listening to All The Critics Love U In New York today.
The Rainbow Children is a lot more jazz influenced than anything Prince has done and I wondered about the relevance of these lyrics and what kind of music Prince would release next.
I don't want him to go back and get nasty for the sake of getting nasty or to try to rehash Purple Rain, but is there a "purple high", a purple level, this vibe thing he could tap into to excite his fans all the more?
I don't dislike The Rainbow Children. I bought ONA and enjoy it, but I guess I'm just not excited anymore.
Does he need a "purple high" or do you need a "purple high" from him?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Here's the deal..he tried the purple high thing with SDtrange But True etc..I ddint feel it like I did Critics..when I want that Purple High like Critic, I listen to Critic,..this recent output gets me high with songs like E-Now, 1+1, When I Lay My Hands, You Make My Sunshine etc...If he tries to do stuff like of yore again I want ti to come naturally..I want all his music to come naturally and not forced. That's a purple high that keeps on goin

I like your comment about wanting his music to come naturally and not forced.
