Galpin Blvd Home studio playlist I have been making a playlist based on the studio recordings at 7141 Galpin Blvd. It was difficult to narrow it down to 14 tracks, a double album. After making some tough decisions, I can see how some tracks don't see the light of day due to the quanity of quality tracks produced back then.
A great debate/tournament post would be which studio created the best body of work, my vote is Kiowa Trail Home Studio.
Anyways here is my track list for Galpin Blvd.
side a
shockadelica
the ballad of dorothy parker
Hot thing
side b
Crucial
Power Fantastic
Koo Koo
Crystal Ball
side c
Ten
Forever in my life
easy does it
La, La, la, he, he, hee
side d
Adonis and Bathsheba
Starfish and Coffee
Make your mama happy

Those album sides don't work very well. Sides 1 & especially 4 are very short - sides 2 & 3 are too long. You want to shoot for about 22 minutes per side max.

Ended up on Eric's "Times Squared" album.

I get what you are saying and i realize that, but i personally like this sequence. 2 tracks over 10 minutes creates problems.

I would switch Dorothy Parker and Koo Koo.

Nice idea for a playlist. And thread. I've been checking PrinceVault out a lot lately, and have become quite taken with the work he did at Sunset Sound. Don't be surprised if you see a copycat thread soon.
