"Tickle my Pickle" Is this Prince or a fake? Great guitar playing but the end of the song sounds like the end of housequake and aside from the Bob George like vocals, the only word Prince says in his regular voice is" wait" which sounds like it's stamped from the Prince and Madonna collaboration love song There's Joy in repetition

Sounds real to me She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Using the search there was a thread a while back to which Big Chick says it is real. She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I have no idea is this is a real track but I used my audio tools to normalize the speed of his voice and it sounds like him. A robin sings a masterpiece that lives and dies unheard...

I feel like it's missing Prince's distinct sensibilities. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

The album shows as a Purple Harvest. Maybe another new boot
I always thought it was fake and discarded it years ago but listening again now I'm not so sure.

I just did the same and it does sound like his voice in some spots. But the "rock this mutha" part doesn't sound like him. Hmm... "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

But isn't it a sample of Housequake She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Ah, the great Pickle Mystery:
http://prince.org/msg/7/412355
Bigchick and Databank discussed at least two "Pickles" and a Wendy and Lisa song based on it.
Databank sent them this email:
"Dear Wendy & Lisa,
A long-time fan of your work, I would be extremely grateful, on behalf of the whole Prince/W&L fans community, if you would be kind enough to solve a great mystery we have been facing lately!
A few days ago, a new uncirculating outtake by Prince has leaked online, which bears undeniable similarities to your song "Are You My Baby?". The outtake has been identified as being a 1988 outtake titles "Pickle" (http://www.princevault.com/index.php/Pickle), is mostly an instrumental with some distorded spoken word by Prince (à la "Bob George"), and is 3:34 long.
The consensus in the community now is that most likely, Prince has offered you the track in 1989 (after Eric Leeds declined to use it on his soon-to-be first solo album) and that you developped it into a full song by adding lyrics and a lead melody to it. There is, however, a reasonable doubt about the fact that you may have sent Prince the basic tracks of "Are You My Baby?" for remixing purpose, at the same time you sent him "Lolly Lolly", and that he may have recorded that version for fun.
So basically, the mystery we are now facing is whether "Are You My Baby?" was based on "Pickle" or the new leak is a track based on "Are You My Baby?".
It would be wonderful if you were kind enough to reveal the full story behind this
Many many thanks in advance for your help in those matters,
Kindest regards!"

If you're referring to the "rock this mutha" part, I don't think so, because it is followed up with, "tickle my pickle, ya don't need no otha." "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I was going to download some software and do the same. You say it DOES sound like him? "I like to watch."

Unsurprisingly, W&L never replied. I should email Jesse since he played on AYMB and he's usually quite keen on sharing credits infos but IDK how to reach him (messages disabled on FB and no email on his website). BigChick knows his stuff and says it's not a fake and I'll take his word for it because he often has sources that we don't. Now when it comes to whether it predates AYMB or not it's a bit more complicated Madhouseman did lots of research on recording sessions maybe he'd know something? I'm running the track through Sound Forge Audio Studio at a rate of 1.35 speed and it does indeed sound like him from what I'm listening to. A robin sings a masterpiece that lives and dies unheard...

No reason to believe this isn't real. Sounds like Prince to me, a funky slightly jazzy instrumental with sampled spoken parts. He did have a track called "Pickle" according to the Vault. Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

I love this one, even if it isn't P . Dunno about the vocals and lyrics , but the music is a dead on imitation if it ain't the real thing . Good one. For all time I am with you, you are with me.
