It's actually the other way around. The amount of pissing, moaning, whining, weeping and knashing of teeth and garment rending over a person you guys don't know from Adam's housecat is making you all sound like Prince kicked your mama in the ass or something. Being extreme in one direction is just as annoying as being extreme in the other direction.

Newsflash...this is only entertainment, period, end of story. Bitterness toward somebody that you ultimately know absolutely nothing about is a waste of time. You are nothing more than a patron/customer and if you don't like what's on the menu or how it's being served you can simply vote with your wallet.

Expressing an opinion does not protect the OP or anybody else from opposing views....deal with that.

Obsolete? Hardly, there isnt anyone TODAY that has done what Prince has done. Obsolete is for technology, not artists.

When we look BACK in 30 years his work will be more important than ever. His real legacy and his importance as an artist doesn't even begin until PRINCE ENDS and passes from this earth.

well said. the sentiments expressed by the thread title are not exactly supportive, some of the comments seem mean spirited as well. why would anyone take prince's artistic decisions so seriously? YouTube or not prince is what he is.

dude's work and achievements have already surpassed the legendary status. his name will live forever in the hall of bards alongside the greats. he is being included in music history textbooks already.

obsolete? technological changes will come and go and dude will still have an audience throughout the changes. he doesn't need YouTube or other social media techstyle outlets to make him relevant

if you look, you can see the proof is the now, his awards and sales records, his sell-out crowds who line up for hours in bad weather just to see him do his thing.
