Sweet Baby Does anyone else here love this song? I find it very calming and chilled, and Prince's vocal delivery is wonderful. It's almost a shame that it's followed by The Continental, because, as good as that track is, it does somewhat ruin the serene atmosphere which Sweet Baby creates.

I love his vocal delivery. I can appreciate the tenderness it lends to the album. A robin sings a masterpiece that lives and dies unheard...

Great song on a great album that is flawed due to a stupid storyline and segues and the inclusion of some unworthy songs. That album contains some timeless gems. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

thedance said: Sweet Baby? I really like Blue Light as well as Sweet Baby. I wonder if the fact that you were a fan when the album came out, whilst I had only just been born, has anything to do with our differences? I agree with you on 7 and Sexy MF, the latter being one of very few songs which actually benefit from Tony M's much-maligned presence (I also like his rapping on Willing and Able). Do you like 3 Chains o' Gold? I can't decide if it's wonderfully eccentric or eccentrically shit.

This came out in '92, and I liked it a lot then, but it really meant a lot more to me a few years later. . I had reached a point with a girlfriend that I did not see a future with her and decided to break it off. I did love her, but not the "forever" kind of love that I wanted and eventually found with my wife. I also had different life goals than she had. I never played this song for her, but it did sorta act as the template for what I had to do . . .

One of his most impressive vocals. It's right inbetween his full voice and falsetto which is a challange for any singer. The song is sweet enough too I got two sides... and they're both friends.

this is exactly what it ISN'T. it is a very INTENTIONAL, non-bedroom balland for P that has limited company in its genre. i totally GET when ppl talk about P's "color by numbers" funk type tracks but conversely it doesn't seem like ppl notice when he crafts something intentionally understated, not (overly) sexual or formulaic "R&B". Sweet Baby is a great track to help document his diverse skill and proficiency!

The song does nothing for me, and the endless, repetitive 'Sweet baby' in the lyrics makes me want to barf. A syrupy song that's definitely not one of his highlights.

Nice song, nothing special... A little 2 boring for a Prince R&B song for my liking.

It cant be that. I was a long time fan when this album came out and I love both those songs. In fact, the whole album is excellent. It is his best 90's work and, in my humble opinion, goes down as one of his flawless albums along with Dirty Mind, Lovesexy and Purple Rain.

after a nasty break up this song helped me make it through and move forward. Only Prince can write, arrange, compose and sing the perfect song. Superfunkycalifragisexy!

A gorgeous song. I actually think Love Symbol contains some of his all time finest ballads, Sweet Baby along with And God Created Women and Damn U = perfection.
Prince's vocal layering on Sweet Baby is second to none. Nobody can harmonise with themselves like Prince can and this song is a perfect showcase of his incredible talent in this area.

Please...Sweet Baby is classic! Try singing those vocals, too hard. And I feel for that girl; "walk faster, sweet baby, strive to be the best that u can be... sweet baby".
Put some headphones on and enjoy this nugget called Sweet Baby.

I love this song, but, you been done known better, and how! Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
