This is a new award show?

If Prince agrees to show up there's no reason he couldn't win. The BBC Radio stations (Especially Radio 2 and 6 Music have played several songs from AOA and PE. His gigs in the UK early this year made headlines.

Neither one will show up if they win; David will send Kate Moss and Prince will send 3EG... lol

Pentacle

It will be a toss-up between Dolly Parton and Prince.

If Dolly wins, she'll send a hologram of Whitney Houston.

Pharell won the award. They played a short clip from Fix Your Lift Up, it sounded by the cheering (or lack of) that people didn't know who it was until his name appeared in white on the screen. In contrast to Taylor Swift who was the next artist announced after Prince.

I thought it was decent over all. The focus was musicians and bands rather than manufactured pop. We have an awesome music scene in the UK.

err, One direction? The singing over all was flat, only that american guy sounded any good, as the the likes of Ed sheeran, my god , its like watching you best mate playing in a pub. What happen to the artists and bands that pushed them selfs to the limit on stage . Theres no spark on stage. You can see why the like of lady gaga has become so big, watching most of this lot!

They were the only tween act on there. They're huge, and could hardly be ignored. Not my thing but it's a damn site better than the brits has become.

What do you mean pushed themselves to the limit? How many bands can you really say that about? 2? 3? and they did that once or twice in their careers.
You don't think much of Sheeran because he's too normal, and you don't like Gaga because she's too gimmky. It doesn't get much more real than a guy alone with a guitar imo.

hey, look if you enjoy little ed, thats fine, what i am saying is, the music industry is dying, and im not surprised because it is so boring, and the artists are boring, like ed. Its the same artists that are plugged everywhere, Like little ed. On the same shows, especially in the uk. And i like eds first album, but its for students. Also, there no one that gives you that buzz, when you know that they are gonna perform. I guess i was spoilt, growing up in the 80s , with Prince, michael, and dont forget people like Freddie murcury, were still around, Bowie etc who were trying to push the envelope. And were still performing, trying out new things live. I guess everything has been done.

Like it's always been. Thats the music industry. Except back in the 80's we also had every Austrailian soap star trying their hand at being a popstar.

RE Sheerans album, It probably is aimed at students in a sense... he's that age. Personally I liked Paulo Nutiini's album more. But I saw Ed live before he blew up for about a tenner at the local student union and he was awesome.

I think you're forgetting a lot of the utter shit that was around in the 80s too. Bands now have more pressure to play live and write their own material. More bands and artists are using the internet to gain fans and reputation. There is more "real" music on the charts and it comes through more organic channels.
