I've always loved Slow Love, here r my favorite lines:
----------------------------------------
The man in the moon is smiling For he knows what I'm dreaming of
----------------------------------------
Let's make it last forever For a hundred times won't be enough

I actually like a lot of the lyrics (whether Davis wrote them or Prince)--and several moments in the song. It's just the whole thing that drags. |

There isn't a single song on Sign O the Times that I don't like. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

i'd be a bit miffed he she wrote all the lyrics. ????
Matt Thorne answers this question in his book (pages 159-160). Carole Davis (not King) wrote the song. Prince's lawyers called her and offered to buy it for $25000. She refused and got offered a 50% share of the royalties. This time she accepted. So it's actually not a Prince song at all. [Edited 12/10/14 11:25am] |

I don't think I've ever heard anyone bash this song. This is the song I had on the most repeat of that album, before I fell for the entire album. The concert movie is just mind blowing still to this day.
Usually when there's a "Sign 'O' the Times" song elimination thread, this and "It" are the first to go. A lot of of people look at these songs as filler, and I'm just like chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads |

Damn, that's an eye-opener! I've been googling around, but can't find her version anywhere... PRINCE: the only man who could wear high heels and makeup and STILL steal your woman! |

It's out there somewhere--I remember seeing the album in the racks decades back. It was cheap, but I didn't pick it up. So I've never heard it. |

I always felt that this song would have worked really well in Under The Cherry Moon.Imagine Christopher serenading Mary with this song, just before they make love. |
