I would also say it is official, in the sense that it is run by a fan turned employee. When Prince played at Paisley Park on the 15th, she had a laptop set up next to the stage and was sending out tweets while he was performing. I can't remember if those tweets were coming from the 3RDEYGIRL account or the purplessence one, though.

I'm sure Prince does not like the fact that whatever is posted on his behalf can be commented on and shared. We all know he likes to control everything. Kind of like trying to get rid of the fan magazines in the 90s.
