This makes me angry -- not at you, but at Prince. Those screams are from the performance of "It," which was mashed up with the programmed drums of "Forever in My Life." I've always been a big fan of "It," and I've never gotten over how Prince allowed this gem to completely lose its identity in this performance. disbelief

...But, yeah, he did belt out those lines.

He also used the It-screams to great effect in the extended Thieves In The Temple on the D&P tour. Oh, baby.

Always been a fan of "Soul Sanctuary" - a delivery as beautiful and delicate as a butterfly.

Me too, that falsetto and message in that song is very beautiful. One of the ebst tracks off Emancipation.

After Susannah, his most profound love songs were for Mayte and this is living proof, even if it was by Susan St, Victor. I think it goes well with Curious Child too as a suite.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

"I Love U in Me" is pretty much overdubs on overdubs overcompressed, nothing special by Prince's standards.
The lead vocal is slowed down (the opposite of Camille if you wish), so I don't think it can be taken into account.

In fact we would have to separate studio from live, and "natural performance" versus "post-treatment".

Adore and Crucial are pretty obvious, but nobody's really said anything about the early ballads - many of which had excellent vocal performances. With You, Do Me, Baby, etc.

Not sure I'd consider this among my Top 3, but I've always really dug P's vocals on his "Leaving for New York" demo. So much about it would become quintessential Prince, but some of it -- namely, the extended scat -- is uniqiue among his repertoire.

That's the first time I've heard that... I don't think it's true. He sings in his deep voice on other songs like Peach and Purple Rain, and they're not 'slowed down' or edited. I don't think ILUIM is either. I see no other sources claiming this

Another song I forgot about, and I think most people do, is 'Until U're In my arms again'

Possible his single best vocal delivery, even if the song doesn't quite hit the spot.
