Nasal vocal parade era When you listen to any Parade era recording you cant ignore the nasal character in Princes singing.
Was it because he wanted to achive certain sound or he had voice problems?

It's only some songs, but you're right. He does it a bit when he affects that old jazz man, pimp character both him and Morris were doing. He doesn't go full out Cloreen Bacon Skin with the voice, but it's on purpose. A lot of those songs also have the speed/pitch altered slightly. He may have been going from the overcranked sound of a Victrola. Doesn't totally explain songs like Mountains, where he uses a Sylvester disco vocal and still sounds nasal, but I'd still bet it was something in the recording, EQ stuff.
