Why make a lyric video for a song with vapid lyrics? It only points out how bad the lyrics are.

It's nice to see there's still some form of promotion for the album though.

Side note. This just came to me and is really just fantasy, but imagine how amped we'd all be if WB had just uploaded a lyric video to Electric Intercourse with a date for the Purple Rain remaster.

It's an ok video, but considering they called for making this video months ago I expected more even though I'd really given up a video at all. I think a lyric video for U Know would've been better.

Interesting--given the small budget what we all assume they have, it's about what I expected. I like the photo montage, and I'm not really sure what else would have worked. I know some young folks that like the song, but I'm not sure what the reaction would be if the song were played at a hip, current club. So, I'm not too sure how authentic it would be to show young folks jumping around and dancing to the song. But, I like the song, and the photo montage posing as a video gives me another video I can add to my already expansive Prince video collection.

This song and this video was made for nightclubs. THe IQ levels in mightclubs doesnt merit a fully developed concept in a video. Just a beat, some colors, and flahing lights are about as much as people can handle. Anything more would be a waste or time, effort, and money. My guess is that is why Prince let one of those psuedo hipster punk kids that he works with now make this on the computer without any real input from him.

after many listenings it gets better.

But I was really "hating" the song to begin with, too.....
