I am sure a threads been done like this. Hell. y'all diss, or kiss ass every week. So why not some unpopular opinions on prince? or his music? let it all out baby.

1. Controversy is way better than Dirty Mind

2. The only person to inspire Prince more than Wendy & Lisa. Musically speaking, is Tony M.

4. Prince is a great imitator. More so then he is an innovator. But he is a good innovator too. Ya dig?

5. Planet Earth was his last good album.

6. He heavily misused himself on the ''GCS 2000'' project with Larry Graham.

7. He was actually a decent rapper. He was just corny as fuck.

8. Him and George Michael both hung out at Club Tropicana

9. The 14 Minute Computer Blue. Is better than the entire Purple Rain album.

10. His chart positions don't matter. He will never have another hit single.

9. The 14 Minute Computer Blue. Is better than the entire Purple Rain album. (No, it's fantastic, but is does not beat When Doves Cry, Beautiful Ones and Purple Rain individually, let alone combined)

2. He overuses the falsetto sometimes. Like on Mountains and 3/4ths of Emancipation!

3. I dislike how purposely nasally he'd sometimes make his voice during the 85-87 era ('Sott' title track, anyone?)

4. Batman and Lovesexy are equal in how great they are, imo. I really love both, BM isn't worse...

5. I dislike his 'Parade' look some of the time. Some of it was really cool (like the hats, especially), but in UTCM he really didn't reek 'sex' like he did in Purple Rain. In UTCM he was kind of funny looking... the hair a little too short, teeth a little too big, more mascara than a factory could hold, etc, etc. I know a lot of fans love it and I love parts of it too (Parade Tour <3) but there were times it could get downright cringeworthy coming a year-and-a-half off epic Purple Rain look. Anyone remember that Parade pic of him, probably in the single's sleeve for a single I can't recall, where he looks like a creepy nine-year old French boy up past his bedtime? I do, and imo that boy seemed to surface a whole lot in the 1986 era.

6. Lovesexy is exalted more for its' weirdness and excellent lyricism than anything else. Musically, it sounds just like how his next decade of overproduced pop/dance/hip hop/rock would sound. Like Dance On and the title track? Eye No & Alphabet St.? Dear lord. Love the album, but let's not overrate it.

1. He has dropped a few good songs since, but he hasn't had a good LP since Batman. The Gold Experience is annoying, 3121 is disposable, and AOA is saddeningly unremarkable.

Damn! finally!!! one of the few people who agree. That Planet Earth was a good album. That album actually had some really good songs on it. And Prince seemed more focused on that one. Then other projects from the 00s.
