Prince Vinyl

Recently I've started my Prince collection on vinyl and was wondering what are the rarest Prince vinyl's to obtain?

I've seen COME listed for over $150 on eBAY. I have yet to spot The Gold Experience and Rainbow Children on vinyl for sale.

I did see The Beautiful Experience and Rave on vinyl yesterday at my local record store going for $30 each.

Shit, COME at over $150? I've seen it at a tenner in my local record shop! I'll be buying that asap!

I bought Come vinyl pretty cheap. Whoever is trying to sell it at $150 seems a bit hopeful.

A lot of early-mid 90s albums are surprisingly rare and expensive now, because so few were pressed. At the time they were pressing a few as kind of lip service, for dwindling hardcore, before they packed up the vinyl presses altogether and fully entered the brave new world of CDs and MiniDiscs !!

No-one thought vinyl would be around by the year 2000, let alone making a resurgence fourteen years after that.... so that era of records are now strangely treasured.

For example, Neil Young's Unplugged album, from 1993, will set you back £50 mininum, easily. Some of Prince's 90s stuff isn't that in demand, so you might find them cheaper (at different times I got my Symbol album for £10, Come for £10 and my Gold Experience for £15, all Near Mint), but generally this era of vinyl is priced higher and will only increase as time goes by, so if you see that mid-90s album for under 20 quid in good condition, buy it now or pay double next time you see it!

I many of the 80's and early 90's singles on vinyl. I also have an un-played vinyl copy of The Rainbow Children that a dj friend of mine gave me years ago.

Me and my vinyl collection. I posted this picture in the past but thought it fit this conversation. I collect mainly 12" singles. The ones I paid most for are "51 hours", "Gett off (approx: damn near 10 mins)", "D.M.S.R. (UK promo)", "Black sweat (purple vinyl)", "1999 (AU pressing)" basically everything hanging on the wall. I have multiple records I paid over $100 for.

Do you have an extra TGE vinyl you're willing to sell?

I don't have many of the full length albums on vinyl. I have all those on CD. I have the 12" promo for the "Gold" single on gold vinyl but I don't have the album. Sorry.

The more I look at it, the more I love. My Prince vinyl fits in one crate boxed

.

I am thinking rarest item I can think of, Gold Experience album on gold coloured vinyl or an original soft and wet single with picture cover, a I wanna be your lover single from somewhere like Venezuela?

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

51 hours

Strange tales from Japanese Rain

His Majesty Pop life

The Rainbow Children

Do we really need a new thread about this when the previous one isn't a month old?
